Imagineering

Get Smarter: Imagineering

The thoughts you think most frequently, your deepest beliefs, feelings, expectations and attitudes are what you will actualise and experience in your life.

Left to run on auto-pilot, your mind plays a revolving wheel of habits and belief systems most of which you generated at age 0-7

Imagineering: Engineering your Imagination

Imagineering is consciously and deliberately, harnessing the process of imagination.
Visualising isn't something new; you do it every waking hour, imagining what you expect to have happen to you.
You constantly generate random media on your mind's inner screen.

When you practice Imagineering, you deliberately generate and project messages and subject matter to your inner mind.
Conversely, your mind deliberately generates messages and content back to you, on your inner screen in the form of dreams, symbols and icons.

Carl Jung and others believed this content to be a breadcrumb trail leading towards a deeper purpose for your life.

Your mind constantly moves to and fro between the separate streams of your conscious, subliminal and unconscious functions

Imagineering communicates with your subliminal mind.
Your dreaming mind communicates back to your conscious mind projecting the theatre of your dreams onto your inner screen.

Do you pay attention to your dreams?
Dreams are laced with messages and scrambled code transmitted from your subliminal mind.
As psychologist George Miller discovered in his published study from 1956;  The Magical Number Seven, Plus or Minus Two: Some Limits on Our  Capacity for Processing Information, your unconscious mind filters millions of bits of data back to 7+or - 2 bits of data and discards millions of bits of surplus information each second.  It does this by deleting, distorting, and generalising.

Dreams are nature's designer entertainment for your inner screen; to attract your attention, they have a three-fold function:

  1. Dreams act like Norton’s Disk editor; searching your system for errors and semantically charged information to vacuum and defuse
  2. Dreams make sense and review your mind's deleted, distorted and generalised content.
  3. Dreams correct the distortion in your perceptions, remember: we don't see the world as it is but as we are.
  4. When you dream, your subliminal mind deliberately projects onto your inner screen for the benefit of the entire mind
  5. Imagination is a conscious, random process, projecting onto your inner screen

So how is your imagination different than Imagineering?

When you have fun or feel excited, you generate endorphins, and when you experience fear and the fight or flight response you generate adrenaline - this is an automatic response.
With Imagineering you plan, guide, emote, enthuse and illuminate your scheme to enhance the illumination of your inner screen by
deliberately generating endorphin and adrenaline.
Dreaming, day dreaming and imagination light up your inner screen with generated images, sounds and feelings but with random content. With Imagineering you deliberately illuminate your objective.
Imagineering involves submerging your goal and outcome, consciously, into the lower brainwave frequencies such as those you would reach during dreams, or a hypnosis or meditation session.

Your everyday imaginings, and the practice of affirmations, reside near normal waking consciousness without sufficient gravity to submerge them into the deeper layers of the mind (theta waves).

Vibrations deep beneath the sea, create powerful waves and effects on the surface of the ocean, similarly by plunging your goals and outcomes deep within your mind, they produce powerful effects on your surface consciousness.

Many great ideas and inventions evolved through daydream.
Daydreaming is useful, creative and healthy.
However:

  • Daydreaming isn't planned, deliberate or linear
  • Daydreaming is haphazard and spontaneous

Successful people practice Imagineering by aligning the forces of intent and assumption with their previous success. Another potent formula! You daydream and imagine when:

  1. You fantasise and project images, sounds, feelings and smells
  2. You internally conduct (2 and 3-way) conversations where you arbitrate, argue, defend and plead your position
  3. You rehearse hope as the inner dialogue you desire to have
  4. You replay regret as the inner dialogue you wish you'd had
  5. Your fear can trigger an inner monologue, such as "This is getting out of control!"
  6. When you feel really confident, you clearly envisage how things could and should be.

Most people unconsciously use Imagineering to replay past failure or rehearse mediocrity, so that the confines of their comfort zone perpetuate a self-fulfilling prophecy.
A potent formula! Successful people practice Imagineering by aligning the forces of intent and assumption with their previous success. Another potent formula!

Imagineering is home magic to replace the lack of previous success with a placebo reality on your inner screen, making it possible for your subliminal mind, to jump-start a new belief system.

Your subliminal mind can be convinced and (in a sense) hoodwinked into believing the inner-screen broadcast is actual reality.
Milton Erickson stated that the unconscious or subliminal mind cannot tell the difference between a sufficiently believed-in internal reality and an external reality. Creating an inner placebo reality is a great technique to reprogram your agendas

When your subliminal mind understands your new intent; it aligns with that new agenda, it searches, sorts and filters the millions of bits of data; your (incoming) Alaskan pipeline of data, tirelessly 24 hours a day.
It notices the opportunities your conscious mind may miss. Remember your conscious mind only processes 7+or - 2 bits of information at one time.

Most of the time you only perceive a blinkered seven percent on the horizon of possibility and opportunities.
According to the research of Professor Albert Mehrabian in a study of communication at the University of Pennsylvania in 1970, it was determined 7% of communication is words and their meaning
38% is a result of our verbal behaviour, that is, voice, timbre, tempo, pitch and volume.
55% is our non-verbal communication such as; posture, gesture, expression, breathing, skin color and movement.
The degree to which your verbal and non-verbal communications match is the degree to which you are congruent, make sense and are believed

If you knew you couldn't fail, you could achieve anything!

And in doing so you would imitate what all truly successful people do; goal setting, creative planning, daydreaming and assuming with intent. Einstein imagined riding on a beam of light to come up with the theory of relativity. To generate change in your world, it needs to happen first in your imagination.
You are co-creator of your life circumstances and share the credit with impersonal forces of the universe.
There is a place for your own power
There is a place for the power of the universe as the quantum field of possibility

Quantum scientists agree that the physical universe is not really composed of any “matter” at all; its basic component is energy.
Everything surrounding you and composing you, in all direction as far as you can imagine are, part of one great energy field.
Your senses tell you that things are solid and separated from other things, however down at the atomic and subatomic levels, the waves and particles turn out to be just pure energy.
Down far enough everything really is ONE, whatever you perceive that to be.

In the old thinking you cannot change anything at all, because you don't have any role at all in reality. Reality is already there as material objects moving under the laws of Newton and Einstein and mathematics determine what they will do in a given situation. In this model, you the experiencer, have no role at all.

In the new view, mathematics gives us the possibilities that these deterministic laws of movements can assume, but it cannot give you the actual experience you'll have in your consciousness. You choose that experience and therefore your choose your own reality. This may sound like a bombastic New-Age claim with no understanding of quantum physics. But really quantum physics is telling us this! Heisenberg, himself, co-discoverer of quantum physics, said that atoms are not things they are only tendencies.

Dr. Candace Pert, an internationally recognized pharmacologist and author of Molecules of Emotion believes, that thought alone can absolutely change the body. She states; "Most people don't affect their realities, because they don't believe they can."

Dr. Pert discovered that every emotion we feel circulates through our bodies as chemicals called neuropeptides. Neuropeptides decide what is worth paying attention to, what becomes a thought rising to consciousness and what remains buried deeper in the body. Are your hard-wired to the chemical addictions of your emotions for Life?

Have you noticed a repetitive quality in the kind of relationships you have, in the nature of your arguments, or in the types of bosses or employees that you have?

According to Dr. Pert: Your body craves repeated neuropeptide induced emotional states
Is it possible to reprogram this programming, re-wire your hard wiring and thus meta-program yourself?
Is it possible to use newer models and methods for relating and responding to the world, more appropriate to you now, rather than responses and emotions you developed between the ages of zero and seven?
Think about this through the week and have some fun with this.
